CLINICAL SPECIALTIES
PARENT-CHILD INTERACTION THERAPY (PCIT)
If your child is struggling with emotion regulation, maintaining attention, practicing safe behaviors, and following your directions, PCIT will teach you how to help them build up each of these skillsets. PCIT shows you, as the caregiver, how to be your child's therapist at home so that you feel equipped to manage any situation at any time. Through the use of positive attention and consistent, predictable discipline, you will enhance your relationship with your child and will learn critical skills to manage their behavior, decrease aggression, and increase compliance. PCIT is appropriate for children ages 2 through 7 and their caregivers.
PARENTING MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES / IMPROVING FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS
Do you feel confused and stuck in your relationship with your child or other family members? Learning new strategies or looking at your relationship from a different lens will help you feel more confident in supporting your loved one, managing difficult behavior, and developing stronger relationships with your family. We will work together to find an approach that is individually tailored to help you reach your treatment objectives using evidence-based interventions. Common goals include improving communication, assertiveness skills, and behavior systems to support children.
